State-based initiatives have a direct and increasingly dramatic impact on the biodiesel and renewable diesel industry. State level regulatory officials across the country are both creating opportunities and erecting barriers.

The National Biodiesel Board's State Affairs program serves the biodiesel industry in regulatory and legislative issues by working with those officials. Key programs include California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard, Minnesota’s B20 on-road standard, the Illinois tax rebate program, Iowa’s production incentive, low carbon fuel policies in the Northeast, and more.
